A typical One-day Introduction to Fly Fishing event will include -
- Introduction to Fly Fishing equipment. Its use and design.
- Setting-up the fly fishing equipment
- Fly Fishing knots
- Leader design
- Introduction to the two basic casts – the Roll Cast and the Overhead Cast
- ‘False casting’. ‘Shooting Line’ and ‘Line Management’.
- The Trout & its Environment
- Basic Entomology
- Fly Fishing techniques
- Playing and landing a fish
- Guided fly fishing - use your new skills to catch a fish
- Full tuition notes to accompany the lesson for you to take home
All tackle is provided although you are welcome to bring your own.
The complete beginner will not need to purchase an Environment Agency licence. For the duration of the Fly Fishing lesson you will be covered by my coaching licence.
