Throughout my life I have been fortunate to be able to enjoy the excitement of a number of outdoor activities which have included mountaineering, mountain biking, orienteering, hang gliding and, yes you’ve guessed it, fishing.
You may be forgiven for thinking that I took up fishing to ‘unwind’, ‘relax’ and ‘chill’ after some serious flying or climbing. Not so. The thrill of stalking and outwitting your quarry. The nervous anticipation of a fish taking your fly. The excitement and exhilaration of a hooked fish leaping from the water. The screaming reel as the fish draws off line in its attempt to regain its freedom. Yes the buzz is there in fishing and you have to experience it to believe it.
To help others share the excitement and relaxation of fly fishing was always an ambition of mine so to help make this happen I qualified as a Fly Fishing Instructor. And here I am to help you.

I hold a nationally recognised coaching qualification, the Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Angling (L2CCA) which includes Child Protection training, Emergency First Aid training, Criminals Records Bureau (CRB) checked and Full Liability Insurance. I am also a member of the Game Angling Instructors Association (GAIA), the professional body for Game Angling Instruction in the UK, and the Salmon and Trout Association (S&TA).
I have fished for many years on rivers and still waters in the UK, and I have been coaching/instructing for over five years. I provide friendly and professional coaching to individuals, small and large groups, of all ages, and also teach/demonstrate fly casting on corporate days. I strive to put 'fun' into fishing.
Let me help you share the fun, excitement and relaxation of fly fishing.
