A typical One-day Introduction to Fly Fishing event will include -

  • Introduction to Fly Fishing equipment.  Its use and design.
  • Setting-up the fly fishing equipment
  • Fly Fishing knots & leader design
  • Brown trout in net

  • Introduction to the two basic casts – the Roll Cast and the Overhead Cast
  • ‘False casting’. ‘Shooting Line’ and ‘Line Management’.
  • The Trout & its Environment
  • Basic Entomology
  • Fly Fishing techniques
  • Playing and landing a fish, fish welfare
  • Guided fly fishing - use your new skills to catch a fish
  • Full tuition notes for you to take home

All tackle is provided although you are welcome to use your own fishing tackle.

The complete beginner will not need to purchase an Environment Agency licence.   For the duration of the Fly Fishing lesson you will be covered by my coaching licence.
